Today Google I/O 2011 is going on and instead of Android like yesterday today was all about Google Chrome and Chrome OS. So first off Google announced two new Chrome OS notebooks which will be called ChromeBooks. Both have 3G options, dual band WiFi, two USB ports, media card readers, HD webcams, and dual core Atom processors. The Samsung one costs more at about 0 but it has a larger 12-inch display but the Acer one is cheaper at 0 with a smaller screen. They are coming in June. If you want one of those machines but don’t want to pay the money every few years to upgrade your computer and software then Google has something for you. It’s basically a subscription plan where you subscribe and get computer upgrades and everything. The price is for students and for businesses. I’m really liking this idea since before you had to pay a ton of money but now you’re just paying a monthly fee. Not everyone wants a ChromeBook or really a notebook at all. Some want desktops and Google is working on that. They are working on a Samsung ChromeBox that should be coming some time in the future. Not much is know about it but it should have similar specs to the ChromeBooks. Articles used: gtmurl.com Blog: zlstudios.net Twitter twitter.com
