Unboxing Acer Aspire One AOA150-1447 Netbook

Last week, I got my Acer Aspire One Blue Sapphire with N270 processor. I was about to buy ASUS Eee PC with latest N280 processor but I dropped the idea of buying it because of it’s 10 ” screen size. I was looking for smaller screen size and this Acer Aspire One AOA150-1447 was unmatched. Asus is the only one to have N280 as a processor on it’s netbook for now. Price factor wasn’t a big deal, it was just dollars more if I had pre-ordered but I’m so glad that I got my Acer Aspire One with such a nice screen size and it’s extremely portable. The sound quality is not good enough right off it’s speaker but with headphones, it’s justified. I do lots of reading on this netbook, I do surf internet around the wifi spots and it’s pretty cool to have it. So many people still don’t know what are netbooks. Having no-cd drive might be turn-off for some folks, but that’s not a big issue. We can have things back and forth on the network. The other thing to backup the entire OS, one has to make a bootable USB drive with it’s image put onto it. I’ll put it’s video on how to do that, because, it’s very important and they didn’t include any recovery CD or something like that just in case if hard-drive itself went kaput. This netbook has Acer-recovery software installed which will turn back all the OS to it’s factory default but only till when hard drive is working. ACER is charing some +shipping for recovery CD. Guys, you should have it’s image put onto your USB to help yourself from

You said, you have two exact netbooks. You need to see if the partitions have been altered. To do so, use bootcd like GPARTED or UBCD to see if there is hidden partition . If there is one, try from the POST screen to access erecovery. If no hidden partition for recovery is there, I’ve no more words to say than to contact Acer.

I bought it off the Amazon. And, it didn’t have any 3G modem. Though.. I read on papers, AT&T/Verizon are selling this with their 3G modem at very nominal price but with long term commitment and subscription fee every month :)

  16. lothecruel says:

does it have 3G modem included?

  17. bittertruthnavin says:

no, nothing like that.. It’s still working fine. I use mini mouse even on big laptop., always hated to use that touch pad. whatever, its my ebook reader, my remote control(I control 3 of my other home computers from anywehre) so for so great experience.. Go for 10 ” model, I checked it out on Costco and I could barely differentiate the size. Thanks

you’ve been using it for 3 months now, any change of thoughts? small keyboard? loud fan?

  21. bittertruthnavin says:

It didn’t ship with mine. I’ve used bootable USB , and took image of it and saved it in safe location, just in case.

Acer sells it for some $20 or so extra

  22. b3dan says:

    DOES IT HAVE RECOVERY DVD?

  23. zeppiii1 says:

wow, that netbook looks so great. this is exactly what i was going to get this summer. but its a crap because of the cd drive and that stuff, but i can get an external slim i think.
do you feel good with it?

  24. sumerix17 says:

  25. bittertruthnavin says:
