HP Folio 13″ Ultrabook Unboxing

You guys have probably already seen the massive flood of ultrabooks on the market. I actually unboxed one of them earlier (from Acer), and was not really impressed with the build quality and the performance. Decided to give them another chance and it led me to the HP Folio. Right out of the box this thing felt more durable and better built than the Acer model. I absolutely love the chicklet keyboard but I could do without the gloss inlays between and the super mirror line finish to the screen. One interesting thing to note about the HP Folio is the bottom part of the laptop has a matte finish, freaking genius. Now the bottom portion does not attract wear, scratches, and fingerprints as other aluminum or gloss finished ones. This particular HP Folio was sporting a Core i5 processor, with 4GB RAM and a 128 GB SSD. So far startup AND applications run speedy. After watching the video click here for more info: ritchiesroom.com With Christmas just around the corner we thought it a good idea to take a quick look at 3 differing Ultrabooks, to help you decide if you would like one for Christmas or would like to give one as a gift during the festive season (although you would have to pry one of these babies out of my hands before I give one away this christmas). We chose one Ultrabook from each processor range: an i3 Acer S3, an i5 Toshiba Z830 and an i7 Asus UX21. We’ve presented our thoughts on what each model might represent for different customers, and left it open for further discussion — each model could be successful in its own patch of the market if they attract the right people.
