
The new Google Chromebook’s were unveiled with two models, one from Samsung and the other from Acer, the Samsung Chromebook WiFi model was released June 15th for only $449, the Acer model sold for $349.
Well, today is good news because Samsung is releasing a brand new Wi-Fi only Samsung Chromebook Series 5 black version; this new model will be available via TigerDirect, Best Buy, NewEgg and Amazon.
The new WiFi-only version with black lid is only $349, which comes with a tweaked version of Chrome OS to match. Other features include 12.1-inch (1280 x 800) display, memory card slot, dual-core Intel Atom CPU, two USB 2.0 ports and comfortable keyboard, with a solid 0.8-inch-thick chassis.
More good news comes via Acer, they have just released a press release noting that they have cut the price of the Acer AC700 Chromebook, this was normally priced at $349, but is now only $299 for the WiFi-only version, the Verizon Wireless 3G model was $449, but now has a new price tag of $399.
