This review is from: Acer Aspire AOD260-1270 10.1-Inch Netbook (Aquamarine) (Personal Computers)

This netbook is the best value on the market at this time. Other netbooks that have the n550 come with W7 Starter and 1 GB of ram and cost $300+. If someone is going to change anything on their netbook, they are most likely going to upgrade the ram to 2 GB and upgrade Starter to W7 Home Premium. These upgrades cost $100+ as well as your time and energy. That brings the total cost of other netbooks over $400. This computer comes stock with 2 GB of ram and 64-bit W7 Home Premium and is less than $400 ($358 at the time)! You cannot find a better deal. This computer boots up from powered off in less than a minute and wakes up from sleep mode in 5 seconds or less. The advertised run time is 8 hours and I have actually found this to be achievable! If you are running lots of programs, it won’t be, but if you are just surfing the internet and working in Word then you will experience great battery life. The screen has a nice matte finish so it doesn’t have reflection issues. The side viewing angles though are not very good, but it isn’t like you and your friends are going to be huddled around the computer trying to watch a movie. You are probably going to hook it up to a TV for that which you can do as long as the TV has a VGA (PC) cable connection. I hooked it up to my 55″ Samsung LED TV and played an 720p movie. After fiddling with the aspect ratio a little bit it looked great! The film didn’t skip at all. The keyboard is good for a netbook I think. It will take a little while to get used to the smaller layout, but it is sturdy and gives you plenty of feedback. I think the trackpad is excellent for a netbook. It is plenty wide and picks up on your fingers movements pretty well. The multi-gesture controls work well for zooming and scrolling. It is a very solid experience for the user. If this computer came in black, I would probably by another one; I bought this one as a present for my girlfriend. I don’t need another laptop, but it is just such a great little computer. If you are looking for a netbook, buy this one.

Note: There is no HDMI port; there isn’t a graphics chip capable of producing an HD picture so that’s probably why they didn’t put one in. Amazon should remove that from the product’s description. I was a little upset that it didn’t have one at first, but I can use the VGA port and an audio cable to hook it up to my tv. The rest of the netbook’s features made up for it too.

Recently Purchased this laptop from fry’s same price as amazon but had to pay taxes which sucks! This one is loaded with specs for this price u cant go wrong battery lasts for quite a while would recommend!! To get better performance some friendly advice get ESET antivirus for it beacause it does not slow it down just make sure to uninstall the antivirus software that comes loaded on the netbook first before downloading ESET!
