Actually this particular model is equipped with Intel Core i7-680UM, which is a dual-core processor. It has a 1.46 GHz (up to 2.53 GHz with smart boost) processor speed. With 4GB of memory, this 11.6″ mini lap packs plenty of power for its size. This ain’t no netbook!! Other features include bluetooth, integrated webcam & mic, 3 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, VGA & Ethernet ports, 5-in-1 memory card reader, and a load of other stuffs. It would be even better if it’s equipped with Intel Core i7 Quad Core.

    @timexas1830t

BTW: does this 1830T has a bluetooth connection or not? cause the site where i want to buy it say it has no bluetooth, but other ones on youto does have them

  4. Nigelsarmo says:

@timexas1830t Thankx for you great great advice man….
only, the seccond link you sent is an 16 inch laptop.. i dont want bigger then 13′… cause i dont need big screens and ill use it in combination with an screen or my tv with HDMI or Vga outpu/input.. i rater HDMI…
the seccond thing: i cant buy a laptop from 10000 miles away from me and sent it over here… if he break or something like that, i have to sent it back…

  5. timexas1830t says:

@Nigelsarmo In fact, not only does that AMD laptop have a better processor and better graphics, the $499 refurbished model I linked you to is less expensive than the cheapest used Aspire 1830T you’re looking at. So…I’ve potentially just saved you some $30 or so. Save $30 and buy a better computer…sounds like a pretty good deal to me! (jus sayin’).

    Here it is,
    amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B003MVZ8BK/?tag=248739-20/ref=dp_olp_refurbished?ie=UTF8&qid=1302841710&sr=1-20&condition=refurbished

  6. timexas1830t says:

@Nigelsarmo Plus, that AMD computer, amazon.com/dp/B003MVZ8BK/?tag=248739-20 also has an ATI video card. ATI cards have been consistently outperforming Nvidia cards for a while now. They’ve even outperformed Nvidia cards slightly beyond their equivalent.

  7. timexas1830t says:

@Nigelsarmo Actually, i7, i5, i3…are just overclocked versions of older processors. It’s the same architecture, only hotter, faster, and less stable. Only AMD has actually been creating truly NEW processors, which typically outperform their Intel counterparts (not to mention greater stability).

So if you’re going to buy the 1830t model, I’d recommend this one, amazon.com/dp/B003N3GGO0/?tag=248739-20

Or for an AMD processor, this one, amazon.com/dp/B003MVZ8BK/?tag=248739-20

    Thats what im talkin about:O
i7 man!!!!… i saw this laptop on internet with an i3… but i want it wit an i5…. but dont know…. on the website the i5 seems to bee better then an i7, but i7 is for the extreem users…. anyone advice? i could only buy the 1830T with an i3 here….. so… and i5 or i7 to buy?

  9. sunscorpio81 says:

I got the i5 version, and LOVE IT!!! I did attempt to play starcraft 2,at first it ran sluggish. But I changed all the video settings in windows to max, then went into starcraft 2 and put all settings on low and it ran smooth on the last level (if you’re familiar with the game you’ll know the last level requires a lot)

  10. timexas1830t says:

@Rp3k3 Yeah I think so. Starcraft II requires a minimum of 128 MB of video, which is basically what this system has. Although, the fact that they are intel graphics doesn’t bode too well. But ultimately yeah, I think playing Starcraft 2 in low should be fine.

@hamzahk98 I’ve had it for 6 mothns now and I am very pleased with it. It may also have to do with running Ubuntu on it. The only drawback is the on-board video card – no 3D, HD or graphic-intensive applications feeel at home on this netbook.

  13. hamzahk98 says:

Ive bought myself one! Same colour and all. For some reason it just looks nicer =P
