23 april 2012 – De in drie kleuren (rood, wit of blauw) verkrijgbare Asus Transformer Pad TF300 (die op het Mobile World Congress in februari 2012 reeds werd aangekondigd) dankt zijn toepasselijke naam aan het optionele mobile dock accessoire die het mogelijk maakt de tablet te transformeren in een notebook. Het dock verlengt de totale accuduur tot 15 uur, terwijl het tevens de productiviteit vergroot dankzij een volledig QWERTY-toetsenbord, multi-touch touchpad en USB / SD-kaart-poorten.

De Transformer Pad TF300 is verder uitgerust met een krachtige quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3-processor, de SonicMaster-audiotechnologie, een 8-megapixel camera (met een 1080p Full HD-videorecorder), een 1,2-megapixel webcam en een helder 10,1-inch IPS-display met ruime kijkhoeken van 178 graden. De hybride tablet-netbook draait op Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich en wordt geleverd met de SuperNote-applicatie (waarin je aantekeningen kan maken) en Polaris Office (om Word-, Excel- en PowerPoint-bestanden te lezen en/of te creëren). Het geheugen van 16GB of 32GB is uitbreidbaar middels microSD; daarnaast krijg je de mogelijheid om levenslang gratis gebruik te maken van opslagruimte op Asus WebStorage.

De Asus Transformer Pad TF300 is vanaf deze week verkrijgbaar voor € 399,- (32GB, WiFi-only, zonder docking-toetsenbord), € 499,- (32GB, 3G + WiFi, zonder docking-toetsenbord of 32GB, WiFi-only met docking-toetsenbord) en € 599,- (32GB, 3G + WiFi, met docking-toetsenbord).

De Asus Transformer-serie bestaat verder uit de Transformer Pad TF101, de Transformer Pad Prime TF201 en de binnenkort te verschijnen Asus Transformer Infinity TF700.
